[I think Fraiser’s death, horrible and sad as it was, served a purpose. It reasserted the Goa’uld and Jaffa as capable enemies and something to be feared, which I think was good at that point in the show. When an enemy is around for so long as the Goa’uld, the ‘big scary bad guy’ factor waters down (which is only natural), and by killing a beloved character it shows that they were still the same baddies you once knew were risky to mess with.]
