[I never stopped resenting Sam on Atlantis, mostly because I couldn’t get away from the implications that she was supposed to be an “improvement” over Elizabeth. At least with Woolsey, I never felt like he was supposed to be “better”, just different. It was easier to accept.]

[I always hated how Weir responded to her professional superiors, like the members of the IOA (who were technically her bosses), or her equals, like Caldwell (who was also in command within the Stargate program). Like she was somehow better than them. What has she done that was so special? All I ever saw her do was tell people that she is a bad enemy to have.]

[I do basically assume people who spew vitriolic hate about Weir (or any SG female), but love all the men, have issues with women. Especially, if they also think John and Rodney are the best thing to ever happen to Stargate. I love them both, but they are frequently written as semi-incompetent, whiny man-children. The fact that it’s so well received by fans just seems to highlight the double standard.]
